In 2013, we noticed that many dirt tracks were paved in the Atlas Maritime north of Agadir. It was a large government program to open up remote and isolate mountain valleys In 2014, we made a recce trip to outline a new road cycling itinerary in the area. But it was not until spring 2015 that we did finalize the stages for a brand new tour!
Today we can say that we have spotted a true paradise for road bikers! Ingredients: Beautiful newly paved roads with very little traffic, stunning valleys with traditional villages, impressive canyons and lush oasis ... To sum up, a stunning area to ride in winter, enough to make you forget the roads of southern Europe!

Highlights on this Tour
o  The stunning scenery of The Atlas Mountains
o  The wild coast of the Atlantic
o  Berber Valleys of the Atlas Maritime
o  Unique Argan Forests

Day 2

The approach

In the morning, you will be met by your guide and our minibus assistance and drive to the north foothills of the Western High Atlas. After Imi-n'Tanout we reach the starting point of our tour. After a little check and adjustments of our bikes the tour can start with a good climb to gradually gain altitude. A beautiful climb on a gradient twenty kilometers to reach the highest point of our stage at 1537m altitude. On top of the pass, we will enjoy the great views before starting a nice and long descent to reach our little hotel for the night with a breathtaking view of the valley.

Day 3

Thujas & Cnyons Loop

After a good breakfast, we take our bikes and ride is full on a false flat before attacking the first climb of the day up to the pass at 1500m. From the pass, we start a superb descent between fields of almond terraces overlooking a small gorge on our left. We continue the descent to the bottom of the river for another tough 2km climb that will take us to the beautiful village of Iguer. From the village, we cycle through beautiful forests of Barbary Thuya with long mountainside traverse. As we reach the beautiful palm grove of Assif, we will begin the "challenging" climb of the day which well test our fitness, a 14 km road snaking up to the pas! At the top of the climb, our efforts will be well rewarded with a great view of the valley below. After a well deserved break, an easy ride will take us to our hotel for the night.

Biking Distance: 60km / Altitude gain, loss: +1504m, -1490m / Max Altitude: 1613m, MinAltitude: 722m / Grade: ▲▲▲▲▲

Day 4

Oasis & Waterfalls Loop

This morning, we go back the same road we've ridden the day before in the opposite direction to the palm grove of Assif. A nice little climb takes us on the high plateaus to cycle westwards. The road marries the mountains hill sides and our ride is punctuated by typical villages of this area. We progress in hilly landscapes through beautiful Argan forests before joining the amazing oasis of Nker Valley. An unforgettable ride in the shade of old palm trees along the river bed. As we get out of the oases, we begin the long and hard climb to the waterfalls of Imouzzer. The road winds up and quickly gains altitude with always great views of the villages and oases bellow. We reach our small hotel after a great day of cycling.

Biking Distance: 70km / Altitude gain, loss: +1746m, -1765m / Max Altitude: 1380m, Min Altitude: 340m / Grade: ▲▲▲▲▲

Day 5

Paradise Valley

The last day on our bikes is more descending profile, but still promising breath taking landscapes. After a short climb the road overlooks and then winds down to the heart of Paradise Valley. This river really deserves its name , with abundant palm trees and natural swimming pools dug by the force of the water. After a fairly flat section to Aqsri, we take some altitude with stunning hill side ride and you can now overhang stretches of the Atlantic ocean. The last downhill section is superb, as we reach the outskirts of Agadir, we'll climb to the legendary Kasbah, nothing better as an epilogue to our epic trip. After the group photo, we pack our bikes on our minibus for a short transfer to our hotel by the sea side.

Biking Distance: 52km / Altitude gain, perte: +624m, -1680m / Max Altitude: 1230m, Min Altitude: 110 / Grade: ▲▲▲▲▲
